Wintec offers over 130 courses and qualifications at a variety of levels. From entry-level foundation studies that help you prepare for study; to hands-on technical training in vocational subjects (such as trades, horticulture, cooking); diplomas and degrees in a broad range of subjects (such a nursing, physiotherapy, social practice, science, business, information technology, media arts, and sport science); and postgraduate and master's qualifications in many specialist fields.

Support into employment

Are you disabled, have an injury or health condition limiting your ability to work?

Workbridge is free and they offer one-to-one sessions with an Employment Consultant to discuss career options for you. This is a drop in service.

When: Every Wednesday, 10.30am - 12pm
Where: Connected Centre, Work and Income, Five Cross Roads, 3 Fifth Avenue

Phone appointments are available and someone from Work Bridge will make contact to discuss their services and how they can help.

Connected pop-up

Come and meet your local Connected representative and learn about mahi, study and training opportunities.

Connected is working in conjunction with Hamilton Public Library - and will be onsite weekly.
Come on down if you are interested in employment, any education or training available in the area, no appointment necessary.

Inland Revenue (IR) offers three practical sessions:

  • Starting a business? Introduction to Business offers information on the different ways to structure your business, expenses you can claim, and how income tax and provisional tax works.
  • Are you registered for GST or thinking of registering for GST? GST is to help you learn who needs to register for GST, what GST is charged on, what information must be recorded and how to send this to them, and ceasing your GST registration.
  • Are you employing? The Employers session covers who needs to register as an employer, and what information must be recorded and how to send it to IR.
