He Waka Eke Noa is an opportunity for people to directly meet with employers, recruitment agencies, and organizations who provide support to get you employed (E.g. driver licence, and CV help)

Support into employment

Are you disabled, have an injury or health condition limiting your ability to work?

Workbridge is free and they offer one-to-one sessions with an Employment Consultant to discuss career options for you. This is a drop in service.

Security Guards

Full-time Security personnel are required across the entire Waikato region.

The employer is looking for:

  • Control Room Operators,
  • Monitoring Operators,
  • Security Officers,
  • Mobile Patrol Officers and EMS.

Sites include but are not limited to Construction, Government, Healthcare, and Retail.

New entrants wanted. Certificate of Approval (COA) is not required as there is assistance available for those who do not already possess one.

The Security Industry is a 24/7 industry operating on a rotating roster so flexibility to work varied shifts is required.

Asparagus packers

Looking for a hands on job opportunity?

Packhouse workers are required for a vegetable grower near Cambridge.

No experience needed. This physically challenging role requires you to work on the production lines of an asparagus grower.

The role involves wrapping, packing and lifting skills on a repetitive basis, you will be working on your feet for the shift.

Own transport required to get to the site, which is about 20 minutes drive from Hamilton.

Full time work available 44+ hours per week, working days are rostered across all seven days of the week.

Inland Revenue offers free Seminars and webinars to help you set up correctly to meet your tax obligations whether you are new to business, GST or employing staff.

Inland Revenue offers three different practical webinars:

  • Starting a business? Introduction to Business is a two hour sessions. Learn about the different ways to structure your business, expenses you can claim, and how income tax and provisional tax works.
  • Are you registered for GST or thinking of registering for GST? Attend the two hour session on GST. Learn about who needs to register for GST, what GST is charged on, what information must be recorded and how to send this to us, and ceasing your GST registration.
  • Are you employing? In the Employers session. learn about who needs to register as an employer, and what information must be recorded and how to send to IR.
