Rest home caregivers

Is caring in your bones? Are you committed to helping make life comfortable for those in care?

A Gisborne Rest home is needing Casual Caregivers to work to care for the elderly residents. As the rest home provides 24/7 care, there are shifts available around the clock.

Ideally, you will:

  • be physically fit,
  • have empathy towards the elderly, and
  • be prepared to do all duties of caring.

Previous caregiving experience and level 3 qualification are preferred, but not necessary as training will be provided for the right person.

You will need to be available to work throughout the 24/7 period and weekends are a priority including school holidays, long weekends, Christmas, and New Year.

You must be able to pass police check.

Vaccination is a requirement for this role.

Nga Ara Pai Community Driver Mentor Programme wants you to get your restricted licence. 

Through offering driving lessons for young drivers over a ten week period in an automatic car, your mentors will help you be ready to pass your test.

These sessions are available to Māori SMEs seeking guidance with their ‘people’ needs and requirements.

The Employers and Manufacturers Association and Poutama deliver the 'Poutama Tangata’ group coaching programme to small and medium sized Māori businesses across Aotearoa.

The sessions focus on:

  • tools and techniques to help lead your people,
  • creating the right culture to attract and retain your people.

The free online group coaching sessions with EMA’s HR Specialist Nikki Iuli are held the third Wednesday of each month. Beyond these sessions, 1 on 1 support is also available at a special rate.
