Ngā Karahipi Uru Rākau – Forestry Scholarships now open

An amazing opportunity for anyone considering studying forestry science, forest engineering or forest management begining in 2023.

Scholarships are for students who begin study in the 2023 academic year and enrol in one of these courses:

  • Bachelor of Forestry Science at University of Canterbury, are of Māori descent or identify as female, or both
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) with a major in forest engineering (open to all applicants entering from their first year), or 
  • Diploma in Forest Management at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, are of Māori descent or identify as female, or both.

Study Tākaro, Sport and Exercise in Whakatāne

Take the first steps towards a career in the fitness industry as a professional fitness coach, instructor, or personal trainer.

Tākaro, Sport and Exercise combines two qualifications into one programme: the Certificate in Exercise and the Certificate in Sport and Recreation.

As well as maintaining your fitness and learning how to assist others with their fitness goals, what makes this programme different is it's taught in a wānanga where you'll learn a range of ngā taonga tākaro - traditional Māori games.

When you graduate, you'll be eligible to register with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals.

You will contribute to the health, cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.

This programme is 38 weeks - full time and starts in Whakatāne on March 2023
